Anyone impacted by this? Hope if so that you were able to get out ok. Houses and most other possessions can be replaced. Lives cannot.

For those that would like, you can listen to the FD radio calls in the area. The news is pretty useless. If you are familiar with the area this may help you understand where the FD is and where the fire is. Be aware that you may hear the FD talk about homes that are fully involved and a loss.

Look for the channel: Colorado Springs and El Paso County, Colorado Fire and EMS

Hope it doesnt get more closer to the city, there's a high school (Coronado High School) few buddies of mine went there tonight and they can see the whole thing, houses are being destroyed, people evacuating. Now im hearing People that live northern Filmore,West Centennial, and Garden of the Gods area are being evacuated right now. Lets just hope everyone got out safe, and that it rains like we did back in early june.

I too hope everyone is ok. I was saddened that Flying W burned down, along with many homes in that area.

The Red Cross has opened several shelters. I've donated to them before for the Haiti earthquake and will be donating for these fires as well.

My personal feelings towards the Red Cross are not positive. I'm sure they started out with good intentions and still do provide much-needed assistance.

I like my donations going to help the 'cause'... and not the entity itself.

EDIT: No need to argue your point Erod. I know our viewpoints differ ;)

Wasn't planning on arguing. Everyone has different experiences and different feelings toward various organizations.

Damn, I didn't know Flying W burned out. I'd always wanted to go there but kept forgetting.

Not any of the people going door-to-door, those are scam artists. I'm almost hoping one of them comes to my door so I can see what my 45 does to a human head at point blank range.

There has been a little rain this afternoon, but it's not helping, because with the rain comes low pressure which causes higher winds which exacerbates the fire.

With the higher winds comes more smoke on this side of town too. It was bad this morning but then wasn't really noticeable in my house all afternoon until about 15 minutes ago. Now it's super smoky and irritating my throat again.
