Moving to Denver!

Postby Ryanmmacoustic » Sat Apr 28, 2012 9:14

So It looks like I'm going to be transferring from Front Range Community College in Fort Collins to Metropolitan State University in Denver! I won't start at Metro until the fall but I'm looking for a job and place to live down there right now! If anyone knows of any good places to live in Denver, preferably North Denver maybe even Highland, please let me know.
Also, does anyone know of any places in Denver that are hiring? I could really use a job!
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

-Ryan

You could talk to Michael and see if he needs any help down at the Man Cave if you know anything about detailing. I've been working over there. That's kinda far out though, off I-70 in Wheat Ridge. Oh, and Denver > FoCo

Congrats on the transfer. Still have yet to meet my fellow Texas transfer, hopefully I can catch you before you move.

Eveyone is entilted to their opinion, but I love Northern Colorado, and am not a big city fan.

I love Denver. I tried the whole smaller city thing when I lived in FL. I definitely didn't like it. I haven't been around Northern Colorado a whole lot, so it may be a bit different. But I really prefer the convenience of a big city. Just about any place I could really want to go or need to go to get something is within 5-10 minutes. Anything from auto parts to tires to groceries to the mall to restaurants. The only place I can't get to within 10 minutes is school :p That's 12 to 15 in traffic.

You can get that in a smaller city like the Springs, only with a lot less traffic.

Congrats! What are you gonna be doing man?

And erod: Only time traffic is ever bad around here is during rush hour. But it still keeps flowing pretty well. And rush hour is unavoidable here and in the Springs. I never have to deal with traffic when I'm driving though. Denver > Springs :p

There is a huge difference of actually driving "in" Denver and being "outside of" Denver in Centennial. I'm pretty sure your not speaking about actually driving in Denver cause "in", it gets pretty bad during morning rush then it's just bad then the evening rush just sucks. Only time I love to drive is early in the morning or late in the evening.

I've dealt with rush hour traffic in Denver on a few occasions. It's really not too terrible. In my experience it still flows pretty well, just lots of volume.

All depends where in Denver, but it can be very sheety at certain times, pretty much all the major streets by me (downing, alameda, Evans, broadway, i25...) all suck during rush hour, and most streets seem to have construction going on which makes it worse... I know to avoid certain times if I dont wanna be stressed out..

Yea anyone who says Denver rush hour traffic isn't bad really hasn't driven in much of it, heh. Going 20mph on a 65mph interstate is not the definition of traffic not being bad.

Denver/Metro driving sucks, period-- regardless of time of day.
