So I just did this lastnight on my wife's Jetta. Not too shabby for a $2 toothpaste (Crest Extra Whitening) vs $20-30 restore kit. Plus my hands smell good and all minty afterwards.

What kind of cloth/tools did you use to polish the headlights with? Did you select that toothpaste for a particular reason?
Nice work.

I just used a rag that was just lying around in my garage, nothing special. I was told that Crest Extra Whitening works the best. LOL I use Colgate myself at home so I had to spend $2.xx to get the Crest.

Looks great Batman! Not sure why Crest is more expensive than Colgate...that always bugs me.

I always thought Colgate was a watered down toothpaste. Looks great BTW.

For some reason Crest just hurts my gum and the inside of my lip when I use it so that's why I use Colgate... Maybe that's why it can scrub off crap on the headlights better?

Haven't used anything but Mentadent in years.

Got any "before" pictures? My headlights aren't yellowing but one of them is getting foggy...doesn't seem like toothpaste would fix that particular problem.

I assumed the light on the left was unpolished and the one on the right was polished.

^^^ correct.
Left = no toothpaste yet
Right = got toothpasted
I'm also planning to spray it with the spray on clear coat stuff so it will protect and seal.
