The first rendering is what Brent came up with, the second rendering is just about the same but has extra between the ends of the spokes for extra rigidity. The third is what he said they can also do in a 3pc with the PCD dive (sinking in where the lug holes are), based on the Enkei RPF-1 Type RC.

I'm really leaning towards the second rendering but with the extra material taken out, basically making it just like the first rendering. I've always liked the double six spoke look, but the Type RC has the spokes moving away from each other as they go out, unlike a 1pc RPF-1.

One of my original requests was to have a concave look, but he said they can't do that. I even asked if they could do it with the spokes curving in, like an Enkei RP01, but he said they can't do that either...however, that's what the first two renderings kinda look like to me. I've always wanted a TE37 but with a lip, and I think this is the closest I'm going to get. I actually really like these wheels. He also said I'll have a 2" lip on the front and 4" lip on the back.

The finishes we have been thinking about is something like the fourth pic (kinda gunmetal but still being able to see the machining underneath) for the center and the fifth pic (like a special brilliant coating or a light coating of super black chrome) for the lips.

I would like these to be my final set of wheels (or at least one of two final sets, since I may have some dedicated for the track and some for the street).

Any comments, ideas or preferences?

all look good but I like the 6 spoke the most.

I think the 6 spokes look "right" on the FDs. But in the end it's what you think looks best, as it's your car and your taste

Yeah I'm liking the 6 spokes more too. I've always loved the look of TE37s and this is about as close as I'll get.

Ian, I've thought about that before haha. Here is my justification though...there are 6 apex seals in my engine lol. And for the RPF1s and TM02s I've been running for years now...there are 12 corner seals and 12 side seals in my engine LOL. I don't know what it is, I just like the symmetrical look.

What do you guys think of the colors/finishes? Think that will look good? I want the face to be darker than the lip, and I'd like to stay with black, grey, no color, etc. Is monochromatic the right word? lol

Well that's just it, I'm doing this so that WON'T happen, but maybe it will, who knows lol. These will have everything I ever wanted though, so I'm hoping it won't. I'm still going to keep the AME TM02s as well because I do love them. The only reason I've thought of selling them is only to go up in size and offset (now that those sizes and offsets are offered) so I don't have to use spacers, but I'm not sure I'll do that even. Either way, you're defeating the purpose...I'm asking for advice specifically because I want to get it right this time and I don't want to keep changing wheels haha.

Technically they're nuts and bolts HAHA. AND if I go with titanium hardware I can drop the wheel weights 3lbs each down to 15lbs, but that's another $1k so I'll wait on that at least haha.



Another problem I'm looking at is tire sizes coupled with streetablility. The sizes I'd like to get in a street tire are not offered, only in race tires (well, for the rear anyway), but that also depends on which brand. I'd like to stay away from the Toyo R888 and Yokohama A048 because they are almost strictly track tires, but I may have to go with something like that anyway. The Toyo R888 runs wider than others, quite a bit wider actually. With an R888 a 285/30 fits perfectly on an 11" wheel, where another brand tire 295/30 fits perfectly on a 10.5" wheel. I'd really love it if Hankook either had an R-S3 in my sizes or if they would put out the tire the Revolution FD uses (Ventus TD I believe), which isn't mass produced, and I'm not sure it ever will be.

Maybe I'll just swap over my current tires to the new wheels. It would save me money, but I wanted to be able to swap out wheels and tires on a whim haha. But my current tires aren't quite as meaty as I'd like either, and the old Nittos were too meaty haha.

Son of a...well, it always happens. This is EXACTLY what I was wanting, only preferably in a 3pc and 18". I didn't know the TE37V came in 5 lug. I could sell the AME and get these for the track HAHAHA.

I know. That's the exact look I was going for. They only make these in 17", but I saw on Upgrade Motoring that they come in several sizes that would work for me.

I have 17's on my FD (FN01R-C's) and I think 17's look right at home on the FD chassis. The FD is of course unique as it can pull off 16's, 17's, 18's, and 19's and they can all look right at home.

Yeah part of it depends on if you have a body kit too. I think anything up to 18s look OK without a body kit, but 19s pretty much have to have one. I think 16s look a bit small but 17s and 18s look perfect.
