When my cat gets really hyper (eyes are widen), he acts crazy. As in.. biting furiously... I know they're play-bites, but he will bite hard and make people bleed. Anyway to stop this? He used to do this before I de-clawed his front paws, now he's horrible and does it even more.... Can a vet do something about this? Is there a muzzle to put on him when he does this for a example of time out? Thanks...

And I, personally, wouldn't suggest accepting the behavior. But rather, letting him know what he's doing is wrong. If that means giving him a swat on the butt and ignoring him for an hour or two, then so be it.

j/k. Def do some sort of scolding. Cat's are more indep than most dogs so it make take some time but basically being consistent with scolding or putting in a carrier for a "time-out" sort of thing should eventually enforce the correct behavior.

Grab the cat by the skin on the back of the neck lightly and use your other hand to cover his eyes and press his head to the floor telling him no in a mean voice. This will show dominance over him. It really does work.

Hahaha cat carrier. That made me giggle this morning.

I have tried:
* slap on butt and nose as well as flicking his nose
* lock him in bathroom at night or when he foes bad things
* spray bottle with water - even if I touch it he runs

I sort of have tried to hold his skin and dug his nose on the ground but he is smart and turns around to bite.
I have not tried to do vinegar with water in the bottle or cheyanee pepper.

Best way to train them not to do something is to immediately grab them by the scruff of the neck and using one or two fingers give them a sharp tap/slap on the forehead between the eyes. You have to be consistent and not expect results right away cats are very independent and stubborn animals but you can train them to do most things that dog do such as sit, stay and come you don't believe me i have trained my cat to do that and my wife's cat just started to do it after seeing the praise the other one got that it didn't. Pretty much just become the dominant force in the household and spend time rough housing then spend time doing regular things like petting and teach it the difference.

Also, don't use your hands as play toys. That just tells the cat that it is OK. Get toys that create distance so that you can lead it on and expend it's energy attacking something that looks like a bird or something.
