Droid Troubles

Postby Fly boy » Tue Apr 26, 2011 9:14

For some reason my Gmail account that is linked to everything this stupid phone had become.... not linked. I tried to log in, but get the captcha prompt, put in the correct captcha, and I see my Gmail stuff to put in my password. I put in the CORRECT password, and it goes to captcha request.

I went into google and changed my password and tried all over again. Tried resetting the phone, auto syncing, manual syncing etc. Anything else I might be able to try? I am putting in the right captcha and password but it is not working. I don't want to restore to factory and lose photo's, apps, everything! Thanks

Not sure what you mean, whenever I have to link my phone to my google account, I never have to enter any captcha. Just username and password. Using a Samsung Epic4g.

Settings/ Accounts & Sync / Select Auto-Sync -> Select programs for sync (Hold down on program for advanced options)

Regulator that would work of he could get intothe
Phone, but with what he is seeing is I'm not mistaken - is the screen to get into his phone.
If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to plug your device up and load your photos through the C drive. The applications will save tonyour android market. Thats how they are transferred through each device replacement and upgrades.

^ This, all your apps will be backed up through google, same with contacts depending on your settings, and always back up pics if they are important.

restore it to factory, then root that shit and run something awesome like cynogenmod.

Pretty much. Don't try it too many times with the pass code as it will lock him out too.

Holding down didn't do anything.

I can get into the phone, txt, call, check yahoo etc. But when I click market, or gmail I get a notification saying google sign-in, please type the characters you see in the picture.. I type correct picture words and get "goog sign-in, you entered the wrong password or your account has changed. please re-enter your passworkd. Shows a correct username, and when I do correct password, puts me back and picture word.

but you can log on to your google account on a pc? if so I would wipe the phone, back up pics your pc, google will do the rest.

Then if you want to root it I used unrevoked, couldn't be easier then download rom-manager.

It's real easy to root and modify to your own specifications. You want to be sure you understand the "rooting" part of the modification before you decide to root... Although it's easy to format the Droid and go back to factory....

Exactly. You want to back up your photos thru the PC, your applications will be saved to the droid market through your gmail account. Worse case scenario is your phone is going to do the same thing. You'll then would want to upgrade to the 2.2+ (Fyro) OS ... unless you're already there. I think 2.3 came out recently, maybe? If not, don't call your phone company as it's not a phone company issue, you need to contact the manufacture.... I mean, I guess you can contact your provider and get a new phone... but I still would contact the manufacture just so they know of the problem... heh.

Problem? It's an Android phone.
Solution? Windows Mobile.

:p Couldn't resist. While Android is better than iOS in my opinion, I still prefer WinMo for phones.

LOL, I think you're the only person in the history of smartphone users that perfers WinMo to Android. Everyone I know that has had a Windows phone in the last 2-3 years has switched.
