Ah the sweet memories! Here's my list from the past 17 years of driving, for a while I was buying a new car every 6-12 months and lost my ASS in negative equity from rolling it over each time. That my friends explains the Mystique, it was the ONLY thing I could buy while carrying $9,000 over (ouch), lesson finally learned after that one.

'66 VW Baja
'92 Suzuki Swift
'85 Fiero GT V6
'91 Mazda MX-6
'95 Mazda MX-3
'94 Eagle Talon ES
'92 Toyota 4-runner limited
'96 Mercury mystique (worst car ever owned by far)
'97 Mustang GT-S
'99 Nissan Pathfinder
'01 Mazda Protege ES 2.0
'99 VolvoV70 GLT
'01 Toyota Celica GT-S
'04 Mazda 6s 5 door V6 (my wife drives it now, I sold her baby (Volvo) for the Speed3, she's VERY understanding of my car habit)

'07 Mazdaspeed 3

Bikes
'95 Kawasaki EX500 (engine blew at 600 miles)
'95 Kawasaki ZX6
'97 Suzuki TL1000s

I loved reading everyone's list, there have been some really awesome cars - keep them coming!

lets see

79 dodge diplomat (bought from my mom)
sold 3 months after i got my license to get my 95 saturn sl2
i wanted a beater car on the side (even though the saturn was a beater)
instead of buying a truck like i wanted i got a 87 monte carlo which was closer than the truck. i picked that up then the next day i went offroading and got it stuck in 3 feet of mud / pond .... we went back to get a better tow rope or something and the window got smashed out while we were gone so i just junked it the next day for 50 bucks (i lost 450 on that)
i kept my saturn till i got to colorado and got a 02 xterra which i traded in 3 months later (gas sucks on the 3.3l that has no power) for my mazda3

arctic_blue83 wrote:18th car at age 36? Wow, so you go through cars at about the same rate as I do... every time I buy a car I tell myself I'm going to hang onto it for a while, it just never works out lol. Hopefully the STI will be different, I actually would have kept my WRX if it wouldn't have kept having problems, I kept it the longest at a full 2 years. Hopefully my STI will remain problem free *knock on wood* Although I don't have much in the way of a "project" in store for the STI, it's pretty damn impressive in stock form, I'll probably just pick up a TBE, tune it (haven't decided on what flavor of EM...) and call it a day.

I don't suppose you have a "master list" of your former cars?

Sorry, kind of off topic, I just realized what I wrote last year lol...

Wow, I think I say that about every car I buy lol. It never really works out that way... here it is a year later... and well, I guess I didn't really stray too far from the "original plan" lol. I got a TBE (Cobb DP+Borla XR-1) & tune (went with a Cobb AP I picked up for dirt cheap- $250), but have added a couple of things since then, nothing major or expensive though. Crank pulley ($50 on Nasioc), Walbro ($50 on Nasioc lol), 811cc injectors ($200+stock cores from Revolutions Performance), so nothing too crazy. A few brake mods, but I don't really consider those "mods" per se, as my pads were getting a little low, and it was cheaper to buy aftermarket (i.e. better) pads/rotors/fluid than to buy new stuff from Subaru, although I figured I would pick up a set of SS lines since I only wanted to do it all once.

The extra fuel (injectors & fuel pump) were needed though, in order to run E85 :D I love this stuff!! Although I'm almost "done"... for a while... next are an SRI+FMIC+retune, probably in about 6 months... and after that, well, I'll wait until the VF39 starts to go, and replace it with a TD06-20G...

Sorry for the OT rant, I just laughed when I saw what I wrote.

Back on topic, previously/currently owned car(s):

2006 Subaru STI (current)
2006 Mazdaspeed 6
2003 Nissan 350Z
2004 Subaru WRX
1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo
1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T

I'm now 25, have owned my STI for over a year, and have no intentions of ever selling it *knock-on-wood* :)

Although I have considered the possibility of getting an older project car... possibly an old Miata?!?

Well, let's see. My first car was a '99 Toyota Camry. I liked it, but I constantly thought about selling it and getting something sporty for the two years that I owned it. I eventually sold it and bought a '95 Nissan 240SX. I loved that car and would buy another, but one day I started it up and it simply wouldn't run. It never ran after that, and coincidentally I got a good paying job at the same time, so I bought an '03 Infiniti G35. Then I sold that to get my current cars, a '99 4runner and my FD RX-7 (which I may never see again due to it being stolen :() If I don't get the FD back or if it's found raped beyond belief, I'll probably get a 1st gen RX-7 or an older Porsche.
