I'm late on this, but you quit your job because it sucked? Really? Jobs are hard to come by and you have to SUCK IT UP! I dislike my job half the time but i don't quit because i don't like it. I feel zero sympathy for you. At all.

No it's true though. Why quit something when you're bringing in income? When a lot of people who have a lot more experience in jobs and STILL can't get a job, it's stupid to quit your job .. just because you hate your job... it's retarded. but eh, to each their own.

Christi, if you're referring to me (which I think you are, don't remember anyone else mentioning quitting their job recently), it was due largely in part to the fact that I was getting scheduled too much during the week to the point of me not having sufficient time to always finish hw or study. It didn't help that the job sucked, which influenced my decision. However, it was mostly due to scheduling becoming a problem. I'm waiting to hear back on when I am going to have an interview at Epicurean Catering. I was supposed to have one a few weeks ago, but the HR lady had to reschedule. Left a few messages since, and I haven't heard back, so I emailed her today. If I don't hear back in by Tuesday night, I'm going to email the VP who I talked to before sending in my application (both he and the HR lady know my dad because of their business together
) to make sure that I was old enough to work there and try to find out why I haven't heard anything.
Edit: And it's a job where I schedule myself so that won't be a problem. Plus, I'll get paid more (my sister made $9/hr doing the same job with the same company over the summer vs. me making minimum wage), and I get paid for half of my drive time.

everyone quits their first job. I quit my first job too. after getting punched in the face by my manager. I was 14 years old and not legally working there since I had to be 15 so I thought if i reported it I would get in trouble. was I stupid eh.
I've never quit because it was too hard or school was getting in the way. I had school from 7:10am to 2:50pm and work from 3:30pm to 11:45pm I walked to school. I walked to work. then I walked home and would get home after 12am. I kept my grades up and paid for ALL my own stuff. if i didn't have money to pay my phone bill I didn't have a phone. if i didn't have money for lunch I would not eat lunch or I would have the free popcorn we were allowed at the theater. I didn't have my own car till I had the money for my own car. I didn't drive my car most of the time because I didn't have gas money. I had to pay 400$ of rent a month at the age of 14. That was the price I had to pay for having a job. and my car was 95 dodge neon. It was missing a window and i didn't replace it because I couldn't afford it. I can't imagine what you would do in my shoe's.
You are almost 18 and haven't taken care of your self at all. even when working your parents paid for most of you shit. grow up man. really. you say you won't be depending on your parents all your life but it's never to early to be independent. My parents don't help me unless it's an emergency.
life is sweeter when you earn your own bread and crumbs.

Holy crap man. Living on your own at 14. And I thought I had it rough LOL. Not really, I had a pretty good life, still do, but I also don't complain too much I don't think haha.
I worked at Dairy Queen one summer before 11th grade I think, but I quit after about 4 months. Not so much because I disliked it, which I did haha, but more because I was starting school again and my Mom wanted me to quit because she didn't want it to get in the way of school. Also she wasn't too happy that my boss had me changing the letters on the sign during a lightning storm with a long metal pole LOL. I had about 13 yards to mow that summer also, so it wasn't like I wasn't making money anyway. All in all, I wouldn't trade that time for anything though. Life was great.

I love my life too. It made me appreciate the little things. And it makes me laugh when I see people like jonathan make a big deal out of little things. I'm glad my parents didnt treat me like a princess.
@speed junkie. im glad none of the places I worked at had those type of signs. Lol

Been trying to find out how the Broncos playoff tickets will be distributed for next Sunday's game for season ticket holders for my dad. Can't find it anywhere on their website. No answer when calling the # listed for the ticketing office which they say to call with further questions. Grr. I hate it when people don't answer their phones.

.Yeahshort story was I left my foam cup with soda on top of his new truck so he came out talked shit. removed the lid from the soda and threw it in my face.i turned around after trying to move away and next thing I know I'm on the ground with my eye hurting so much I couldn't open it. and my co workers are in an argument with him. One of them was trying to fight the manager but he refused and went back inside. Me and the other ushers at the theater quit on a friday night during a movie opening. That was our way of getting back at him.
