Had my first run in with an Evo X tonight. Intake and exhaust at the least, sounded like a downpipe too. Sounded mean as hell. He did a fly-by and then slowed down a ways ahead. I caught up and did a fly-by of my own, then it was on. We did two runs from about a 65 roll and the first time I put about 2 cars on him right away and was slowly pulling away when we shut it down. The second run I didn't take off as quickly cause I thought maybe I just jumped the gun. We were fairly even through 4th, maybe had half a car on him, but by the end of 5th I had about a car and a half on him, so I did jump early the first time but even with an even start, or even giving him a little bit of a headstart on the 2nd run to make sure I didn't jump, I still ended up winning.

Have to say I was surprised as he was definitely not stock. Hopefully he was surprised too. ;)

I decided to take the 8 out just now since the weather was nice today. Got chanllenged another silver RS4. Kinda difficult to not burn rubber through first. We didn't really race though just took off from a light. I took off gentle then floored it so he got a leap on me but I closed it quick.

Driving home this afternoon I came across a yellow 98'ish Roush Mustang GT who was showing off a little too much for my liking. First he got onto the on ramp next to me and went flying by and immediately switched to the fast lane even though all lanes were empty. Right after this we were both sitting at a stoplight next to each other and when the light turned green I was ready for him to gun it, but he went real slow all the way up to the speed limit then gunned it, but I didn't wanna follow him going that fast over the speed limit.

So fast forward to the next stoplight. Some sort of Ford Explorer in the right lane, Mustang in front of me in the left lane. He's looking around making sure the coast is clear and I knew he was getting ready to take off... Light turns green and he's going all out and I'm right there with him. I literally had to let off between shifts or I would have been pushing him down the road. Feels good to beat a Mustang with a Mazda sedan and knobby snow tires

I had a challenge this morning in my Civic, but it was a bit different. Wasn't really a race but a douchebag in a pickup just about pushing me into oncoming traffic when he cut me off, after I wouldn't let him over in front of me when he knew damn well his lane was ending. So he won...this round.

I guess this goes in the "grinds your gears" thread haha.

I had a guy in a large truck pull that same crap with me in my old 96 Neon. Only he actually rammed me in my rear door. I was the one in the lane that was ending though and he accelerated to 80 to keep me from getting in front of him and then hit me, so I couldn't really do much about it. What was I going to say? Yes, officer I was going 80 in a 40 trying to get around this truck and he hit me! That car was a POS with other body damage already anyway lol.

This was many years ago when I was much crazier behind the wheel.

Not really a challenge today, but I got to have fun with a silver 335ix this morning on the way to work. He was weaving through traffic, trying to actually get TO the speed limit. I used him as my fullback/lead blocker and followed him through his weaves. He must not have been full throttle, because I was able to hang with him, but it was fun nonetheless.

Well I thought about letting him hit me because I was in the Civic but I just couldn't bring myself to do it haha. I kinda wish I had though. I wanna teach this prick a lesson.

Ran a modded 6.0 GTO tonight. We were dead even 65-120 and then he slowly started to pull on me. Makes sense that he'd have more top end. He was about a half a car ahead at 130 when we shut it down. I was still in 5th so at about 6k rpm. In hindsight I probably should have shifted to 6th and maybe I would have been able to keep up past 120 but the poor little K04 was running out of steam in 5th. Still, I was surprised at how well I did against a 6.0. That thing sounded awesome. Didn't sound like he had any cats or anything. It was friggin loud.

Oh, and of course I would never travel at such speeds on a public road. This was all done on a closed course of course.

^^ Haha, got called a liar over on MSF.org for this story. They're like "do you know what those things trap? No way you can hang with one of those".

Ah, the joys of a turbo car at altitude.

At sea level it would have been a different story, GTO would have started walking on you within the first 2 seconds. But yeah, over 5,000 ft of elevation does give NA cars quite the handicap.
