You guys missed out on one heck of a track day. NASA is by far the best organization around. So many awesome people. Had the best time! A smile on my face the entire time. Few random photos and two awful videos for you guys. I am clearly not good with a videocamera.
Two short videos of the GT3 Cup cars.

Also got a ride in an instructors second gen Miata (spec miata suspention, upgraded brake pads, otherwise stock) and holy crap! I envy you Miata owners now. I want one so bad. Wow. All i can say is WOW! That was the most fun i have ever had! For only a 140hp, it hauls ***! The speed he can carry into and through corners is simply awesome. Also never been in 5-points before, and that was cool. Man what a great time all around.

Looked for you but didn't see you HPR is SO much fun. We ran one of the short track configs for the endurance race on Monday, it basically cuts off the west half of the track so that you go straight downhill into what would normally be turn 10. Soooo much fun. We're flat out down that hill and passing 90 MPH when we finally have to brake for turn 10. If I ever get a passenger seat in my car I'll give you a ride.

That's one thing I love about my Miata. It takes me forever to get up to speed, but once at speed I don't have to slow down much for curves and corners. If I wan't afraid of breaking something and losing my commuter car I'd take it to the track and beat on it, hehe.

Sucks we didn't see one another there. Next time. I watched the enduro practice on Sunday and really like the different track config. It looked like a blast flying through the S's down to turn 10.
I'll have to take you up on the ride offer if you ever get a passenger seat! Would be fun.

Didn't hear anything about this. NASA wasn't there friday.

I think your Miata would be fine at HPR. The instructors Miata had pretty much all stock parts regarding the drivetrain, with over 100k miles and i can tell you he isn't easy on it at the track, and all is well with this car. Do it :P
