Thanks for sharing the pics and video.
Nice to see some Mazdas representing and tearing up the track.
Is the Red Miata you??

It was an awesome day! I wish my car were in good enough shape to get out there and drive, but it was still fun to watch and ride along with people. Tonight I'll post the pictures I took. And no, the red Miata is someone else, CO's first female drifter :)

Who is putting on the event and where can I find some info?

The event was last weekend. Next one probably won't be until September unfortunately...but keep checking here:

Normally event info could be found at codrift.org but that site is down for an indefinite amount of time.

By the way...my pictures are here:

Help me reconcile the two statements. I am looking for somewhere to do a little engine tuning and since work is going to keep me from going to the SCCA Pro Solo in DC that weekend (the 20th) I thought I might sacrifice some of the smoke stored in some street tires I have for the car.

Nice pictures, but whats up with the four car train? I am not sure I want to risk putting some of my new paint on anyone else's car.

Oops, I missed that part about the 20th. There is an event scheduled for the 20th, but it likely won't happen...unfortunately we couldn't raise enough money in time to rent the track. It's a possibility that we may still be able to rent the parking lot however.

The four car train is what's called "tandem"...those are our most skilled drivers, and all of them have proper safety equipment, i.e. full cage and harnesses. It's actually not allowed for most of the drivers, so you won't have to worry about that :)

I hope an announcement is posted here if it becomes a reality.

Thanks for the info.

I will let you know if it does happen. Right now Teresa (aka sidekick, the person who puts on most of our drift events) is talking with the track to see if we can still use the lot. We had hoped to rent the track, but like I said we couldn't get enough people to pay, as PPIR requires that the event be paid for a month in advance. As soon as I find out whether or not the date is still available, I'll post up...your payment would help us secure the event. :)

Until I get the motor back in the car and the initial dyno tune done it is hard for me to commit. The motor is at the machine shop right now.

Update on the motor is: Four weeks before completion. Had to go to a different machine shop to get the billet main caps line bored. First shop found out they can't do one that small:(
