Not everything is welding. Here is a bolt I bought used as part of a complete bolt carrier group. from the looks of things, the roll pin holding the ejector was not seated completely and subsequently run through the lugs of the barrel extension deforming it. To properly check headspace with the gauges I have, the ejector needs to be removed. I broke a #1 punch trying to force it through. This one I am going to take to the professionals (or at least a machinist at work) to get his take. The roll pin will have to be replaced, so a stop at a competent gunsmith will likely occur.

I did use a small jeweler's file and reduced the amount of the burr, but with the broken punch, I was out of commission.

I haven't had much time to build anything lately. I think this weekend I am going to start building the frame for a rolling welding table. That may motivate me to actually purchase the steel for the table top.

The table will be similar to this one:

I thought this bench receiver and storage was a cool way to save space on the workbench.

I'm in the process of optimizing my garage space right now. That storage rack is a great idea...I may have to copy that. Thx.

well, no progress on a welding table as far as building one. I'm actually going to buy a kit in a few months.

I did have a need to fabricate xome brackets to put a yakima ski rack onto a bmw factory roof rack. here they are hanging on my paint tree after self etching primer was applied.
