My previous post, I was a little harsh on my black lump. It sure is fun to drive. The econo-car is growing on me. My wife doesn't even mind it, although we drive it far less than we did the Tundra. Which is backwards. We should've driven the Jeep more when we had the Tundra, as it was easier to park, much better mileage. But we didn't, the Tundra got those duties more often than not. Now we have the car that gets much better mileage, and is even easier to park than the Jeep, but we take that out more often. The Jeep is, by far, the comfier cruiser though. As it should be, we could've bought 2 more STs, plus a couple of used Miatas for the MSRP of the GC.
Back to the Focus, it's fun, competently quick, and every time I get in the Miata, I think...man, this is slow!

Glad to hear you coming around to how the lesser man lives. How's the ride? I only ask because you mention mrs. Huzer. I find that I'm rarely asked to drive when the misses is with me.. simply because the ride is too stiff/rough (hey yo). But seriously..

She hasn't complained at all about the ride. If she did, I'd take her for a spin in the Miata for comparison.
I'll pretend I may revise my ownership timeline on the car, but I need to be realistic, I tend to not keep cars for a long time. Almost three months in, I still only have 700 miles on it, I expect that to grow quite a bit in the coming weeks, especially until I get the brakes on the Miata sorted out completely.

Drove my friends ST again the other day, comfort level is definitely better than the ms3, and the brakes are incredible! Next time i replace my brakes I won't cheap-out again.

I learned that lesson after cheaping out on my SRT-4's brakes once. Never again.

Time for some upgraded motor mounts. Took away 95% of the wheel hop in both my SRT-4 and MS3.

I have yet to take a long road trip in the ST, but I've already discovered one thing. The seats are more comfy (for me) in the Focus than they are in the Grand Cherokee. The seats in the GC seem small, in comparison, and offer nearly no thigh support for me (they're a-ok for the wife). For the GC, I've struggled to find a comfortable seating position, even as a passenger.

The seats in the base ST really aren't that bad. Not quite VW GTI good, but they're significantly better than the seats that were in my G37x. I honestly don't regret not spending the extra $2500 for the optional Recaro's (ST2 package), as the base ST seats offer enough bolstering for a little bit of fun, while still remaining comfortable for my daily commute. I really hated the [flat] seats in my G37x....

Blurry, terrible picture, but on nearly exactly 3 months into the ST, I finally hit the 1,000 mile mark. I don't know if the mileage is more surprising, or the fact that it's 59 degrees at the end of July. I know it's morning and all, but sheesh.

Hatchbacks are fun. I redid the treads/risers on the staircase, and also needed a table saw. The ST smallowed up a new saw, 14 treads, 8 6' boards and random other odds and ends from Lowes. Granted, a 4'x8' sheet of anything won't fit in there, but I'm happy with what I can fit in there.
Found some WeatherTech floor mats on craigslist this morning and already picked them up. I need to do tint, find a winter set of wheels/tires and that's it for the Focus. For now.
