I took the truck to the dump on Saturday and just as I was leaving the lower radiator hose just popped off. I guess the clamp wasn't tightened all the way and worked off. Luckily they had a hose right there so I was able to fill the radiator back up. I'm going to need to drain it and do the 50/50 coolant mix again though soon.

On another note I found out the truck weighs about 4,550 lbs.

I've been driving the truck for almost two weeks now and I really need a break in the weather to I can get a few things done on it. I ordered a power steering pump seal kit that should be here tomorrow. I really need to get the power steering leaks fixed. I also really need to replace the heater hoses and the heater core. I already have all the parts and it shouldn't take very long.

I replaced the heater core, heater hoses, and radiator hoses yesterday. It's nice to have heat.

I'm slowly getting things buttoned down on the truck. Next up is the electric choke which is an easy one, I just need to run a wire to the ignition and adjust it. After that it is the power steering lines and fixing the leaky pump.

I worked on the truck on Saturday. I replaced the gasket for the oil filter mount and the oil pressure sender. I also replaced the seals on the power steering pump and replaced the sower steering lines. The power steering system was one of my biggest leaks and the oil filter mount has a small leak and was easy to access with the pump out.

Next is the intake, valve covers, and oil pan. I'm debating if I want to worry about doing the valve seals. They only leak enough past to cause smoke on start-up if the truck sits for a week or so. Thoughts?

I'll be driving the truck this week and probably next since I'm waiting form an oil like for the RX-7.

I plan to get my front shocks swapped on Friday. I also need to get replacement fan belts.

I thought you already had new fan belts on it?

I did but I'm going to try replacing them with a different brand.

I ended up going to NAPA to get belts over lunch. I swapped them both out and I now have no more squealing.

Sweet! What brand were you using that squealed? Good thing you tried that haha.

I can't remember what brand but I think they were from Autozone. I think the problem was all the other parts stores call out the wrong size belts.

That explains all the old vehicles that seem to squeal.

More likely that they don't take care of them, lol. My problem was that the truck came with factory air (long gone) and from what I understand it uses a different belt size. I never really thought it made a difference. The other parts stores called it out as the same, NAPA calls 8 different belt sizes for my truck depending on options. It's nice being able to swap the belt with 9/16 and 5/8 wrenches and about 10 minutes in a parking lot.

I'm going to get a few things buttoned down on Friday. I'm going to be driving the truck back and forth to the tech center all next week so I want to make sure I'll be fine.

I did get some work done on the truck over the weekend. I replaced the shocks. I need to figure out replacement bolts for the lower shock mounts, existing is rivets and they have stretched slightly causing the mounts to be loose. I adjusted the timing and idle including the high idle. I also replaced the fuel filter.

I still need to replace the points and the spark plugs. I already picked them up so it is just a matter of adjusting the gaps and installing. This will have to wait for a few weeks.
