Nice job on the cleanup. What engine is that? 390?

I'm hoping to get back to working on the truck if it will ever stop raining.

Rain during the week, nice on weekends seems like a good compromise.

Get that hooked up.

I'm planning to do some work on the truck early afternoon today.
What I need to do:
-pull the oil pan, clean, paint, and reinstall
-pull the transmission pan, clean, and reinstall
-replace the spark plugs and points
-pull the passenger side exhaust manifold, see if it is warped, flatten it if possible, and reinstall
-install fluids in motor and transmission
-replace rivets with bolts on lower shock mounts
-install headliner
-install rubber floor mat and door sills
-swap out hood (this will take at least two people)

I'm sure I'm missing stuff and there is always more to do but I need to find a place to stop.

I got as far as swapping the spark plugs before it started to rain and hail. Once it stopped, I really wasn't up for laying under the truck on the wet ground.

I'm going to try and get some more done today.

Last weekend I tried to find a tranny gasket and filter for the C6 and I went to three parts stores and nobody stocked one. One guy didn't even know what a C6 transmission was. I'm going to go to Napa on the way home today to get one, I'm sure they will have it. If they don't, I'll be waiting for an asteroid to hit the planet.

I replaced the gasket on the tranny pan so I fixed that leak. I also pulled the passenger side exhaust manifold and figured out why it leaks, it's cracked. I'll need to get a replacement manifold.

Next on my list is the oil pan repaint and reseal.

I spoke with someone on a Ford truck forum that has a cheap Chinese replacement manifold that works fine. I need to order it.
