My first priority is working on the RX-7 but as soon as I get that back together it is onto the truck.

I need to resize the Accelerator Pump Discharge Nozzle because when I hit the gas the truck sputters. I also need to get bolts for the lower front shock mounts. They mount to I-beams with rivets and they are warn so the mounts rattle, I will need to cut off the rivets and mount bots. One other thing I really need to get done is removing the one helper spring in the rear. All I can figure is it was added when there was a pickup bed camper. I just never got around to removing it.

Once I get all that done, it is onto the motor. Fixing oil leaks....

Intake manifold, valve covers, oil pan, and exhaust manifolds need to be pulled and gaskets replaced. Motor needs to be cleaned and painted.

I'm curious about removing the spring on the leaf pack. Let me know when you want to do that so I can come watch and hand wrenches.

I was driving the truck a couple of weeks ago and when I got home I couldn't get it to shift into park. The problem turned out to be the Automatic Column Shift Collar. It is made out of pot metal and the inside snapped. I have a new one ordered and and it will be here Thursday. I'm lucky it is really cheap and available.

I could buy quite a few $30 parts for the cost of one forged one, lol.

My truck is mostly back together. I have the steering column all back together with the replacement part installed. I still have to reconnect the steering column wiring and the shift linkage under the hood.

I also have a new high flow Carter fuel pump. 120 gph, 5.5 to 6.5 psi. The stock pump is 45 gph so I really hope this fixes my fuel starvation problem at full throttle.

Exactly.

The problem is modern fuel has alcohol in it (up to 10%) and the truck isn't designed for that. The alcohol can't handle the heat of an old motor and tends to turn to vapor. Alcohol has a much lower boiling point than gasoline.

Would wrapping the headers help control some of the heat close to the block?

No headers to wrap. I just have cast iron exhaust manifolds.

I have wrapped the fuel line with tape. Anyone know where I can get heat shield sleeve for the 5/16" fuel line in town?

I might have some big enough if it's long enough. Pep Boys on Academy near Platte has a decent variety of heat barrier products. Advance Auto Parts usually has some and maybe the O'Reilly on Academy between N Carefree and Austin Bluffs (Betty I think is the street). Laniers might have some. It really sucks that we don't have many speed shops anymore.

5/16" is the diameter? I'll look at what I have. Stop by tomorrow or sometime this weekend if you want. How long does it need to be?

I'll give you a call when I get off work. I need 2 pieces 12" or so long.
