1970 Ford F250 Explorer
Looking good...I still think we should've raced last weekend. Old school Ford vs new Toyota. Would've been fun.

My heater core just went last night and spilled coolant all over the passenger floor. Just in time for tomorrow's storm, lol.
It is a $20 part and about an hour install. The problem is it will take a few days to get.

It looks like you are right and NAPA has it in stock.
I had originally checked Autozone and O'Reilly.

true. I just bought a brake master yesterday. It will be in this morning and cost me $15.
I ended up just ordering a heater core from Autozone. I couldn't make it to NAPA before they closed. Everything should be here by 10am this morning.

I replaced the brake master and booster over the weekend. I need to still give the brakes a good flush.
I still haven't installed the heater core after all that.

I'm back working on the truck again. I pulled the carb last night and started rebuilding it. I'm also converting it to Ford linkage and adding an electric choke. I'll be done with it tonight.
This weekend will be the front brakes and the heater core. I'm going to see what else I can get done.

Well I rebuilt the carb and everything looked good last night. This morning I noticed it is leaking from the fuel transfer tube. Hopefully I didn't chew up the o-ring when I installed the tube.
Justin, I'm not pulling the rotors when I work on the brakes. I replaced the bearings a few years ago. I'm just pulling the calipers so I can press in a sleeve where the calipers mount. The caliper mounting bracket isn't available and the existing ones are ovaled out so the calipers have up-down play and rattle. Power front disc brakes on a 1970 truck is very rare so finding good used parts in impossible.

I fixed the rattle, the sleeve worked. I replaced the brake caliper guide pins and I ordered a hardware kit.
Next weekend I'll replace the pads and the hardware. It really isn't easy to find parts for this truck.
Overall the carb is working great. I was able to find a kickdown rod (small tranny mounted piece) at the junk yard so now I have a working kickdown. I still need to work on the jet size. I also need to run a ignition power for the electric choke.
Next on the list is the power steering lines and the heater core.

I worked on the truck over the weekend. The tranny drip turned into a tranny pour last week. The tranny was pulled and the pump seals are being replaced today. I'm homing to have the truck done this evening.

Well I got bad news last night. The tranny is shot and needs a rebuild. One thing that is impressive though is the tranny is from the late '60s and has never been rebuilt. The tranny shop said it is out of a motor home not a pickup and is very rare.
