I started sanding down my extra bumper last night. Found a few more marks than I realized, but it should clean up very nice and will provide me the opportunity to work on learning some simple autobody basics. I plan on taking this bumper to the point of wetsanding the primer, then it will go to the autobody shop for laying the metallic paint and clear coat.

Does anyone happen to know the name of the auto body supply store in Littleton? I bought some thin painters tape from them in the past, but can't recall the shop name, or where it was. I know Allen Paint is on Broadway in Englewood/Denver.

Yeah, I am contemplating an AP2 tranny and replacing the clutch at the same time. I was thinking of a stage 2 competitin Clutch. Lots of good reading. I read up on swapping the tranny, and it isn't terribly difficult, but it isn't exactly easy either. Will have to get ecam involved for sure.

Swapped out my valve cover today. Went pretty well. The torque specs for the bolts is lower than my torque wrench measures accurately (8.7 ft/lbs), so I dialed it to about that setting and snugged them up after tightening them up in the appropriate pattern in 2 passes. Hopefully it is good, I'll find out soon.

I received the GReddy GRacer front lip for AP1s from my wife and her parents for Christmas. I put it on (unpainted) to check fitment and it is spot on.

Trust/GReddy makes some nice stuff. When I held it, it was very solid. No twisting, flexing/etc. No gaps.

Videos I have seen said to scuff the part with the brown scotchbrite pad, and prime. I would assume an adhesion promoter should be used too, so I am contemplating priming it myself. My brother gave me a LVLP spray gun with the correct nozzle (1.7). Only problem with that plan is my garage is currently dissassembled and I have no room to put up my "paint booth" yet. The other issue, is I really want my stock bumper and this lip to be perfect as it will be the summer/show bumper.
