So.... Looks like Mazda doesn't mark up the CX-5 much so there is basically zero wiggle room on the price.... I'm not in a huge rush in picking one up but would love one right now. It's not like the RX-8 at all. a $33k GT RX-8 you could talk them down to the MSRP of a Base model RX-8.... about 25k. On a CX-5 they'll only go down about $1,100 plus $500 in customer loyalty.

Since I'm in no hurry I have decided to wait till the fall and/or next year to see if any incentives roll around. I find it strange that the mark up is so low. Hard to see how the dealers can make any money. Especially McDonald with buying up the Mitsubishi dealership next to them. Guess pre-approved financing through my bank doesn't help either if they can't negotiate. I know Ford has a lot of incentives and I know Kia haggles on price. Maybe if my Sister is ready to pick up another Optima SX later in the year I'll copy her and pick one up in a different color. ;) I know kia will drop from $33k to $27k pretty easily.
