After turbocharging my first Mazda protege stock motor I decided I would eventually want to build a motor for it. Long story short I got rid of it. But I picked this p5 last night for 500$ and I have the chance to get my old turbo kit back.
I would like to know where do you msp guys get your aftermarket parts from?? and which would you recommend?? Any port and polish or other head work I should go along with? These are the dyno numbers of my first protege with stock motor at 12psi. This time I plan to shoot for 350+ whp. Also plan on E85 or methanol.

I'M SO JEALOUS!!! I have wanted a P5 for a hot min.

Protégé garage would be a decent place to start, as well as talking to Edge Autosport in Denver about other parts manufacturers.

I loved my protege but I love love this thing more! All it needed was a timing belt and wheels. I do kinda like the stock mustang wheels on it!

if you are going to rebuild.. forged rods and pistons are a must. I'm using molnar rods and wiseco pistons. I have had some issues with the pistons when a wrist pin retainer failed and let a wrist pin mill a groove in the side of the cylinder wall.. wiseco did warranty the pistons even tho they were a year out of warranty.

Yup. Thats me. I moved to Denver for a big kids job tho. The car is running ok after the rebuild. It is burning a little oil on the #4 piston which I think may be because I had that cylinder sleeved. My machine shop warned me that it might. Now that its not my DD, I am thinking of rebuilding it with a different block. Would like to get it and the rx7 prepped for some track time next summer.
