I bet you thought the lancer was an Evo... Not the other way around. Either way, never convince me that Evos and Stis appear near as much as mustangs. Ford produces a many more Mustangs, and to me its just been losing its luster... it's just so long in the tooth that it might as well be a Toyota Camry to me. Most people that aren't car nuts won't know any variations of Mustangs... they are just Mustangs. Granted, most don't know what an Evo is either, but they stare, ask, compliment more than the 6 mustangs that drove by during their conversation with me :) I'd honestly love to see Ford drop the Mustang for at least a few years and give it a rest. Produce something retro like the Fairlane/Torino. Chevy should do a Chevelle or Nova... I'd have a tough time not buying a sick new version of one of those.

You're right, you're a special snowflake and everyone else is a bland loser. Give me a break.

As for people staring, asking questions, and giving compliments, everywhere I go I get them. Gas stations, drive throughs, people drool over it all the time. Especially when it's running, nobody is mistaking my car for the 10 boring V6s that just drove by.

I'm not trying to brag, just saying there are more cars out there than just Evos that get attention from people, car guys or not. And to try to say that you wish another performance car would get discontinued? That's not a good thing for any enthusiast, even if it's not one you would personally buy.

I feet that way about the 911. They've been making it since 1963 and they are only on the second body style. 1963-1997 and 1998-today. They've made some small changes over the years but they all look the same.

Loads of people ask about my RX-8. Ask want year it is. Ask if I just got it. They are surprised to know it's a 04. These are people that obviously don't pay attention to any cars at all, they just hop in and go from point to point. Makes me feel special.

BOT though I need better pics and angles of this redesign. I must see it in person to make my final judgment.

The link in the original post has a 360 view that you can drag and see it from every angle. I never said I loved the thing, just that I like it more than I thought I would, which is still nowhere near as much as I like my '11.

Special snowflake. J/k

The 8s are designed well. I've actually always thought that Mazda does an exceptional job on design and ages well. I still think the protoge 5 and mazdaspeed protoges look awesome. Along with the 8 and rx7.
