AuroraAxela's Speed3 Build

When I bought this car, it was at 35,100 miles and in overall really good shape. Lightly modified by one of the previous owners, and missing a couple of items, but a really good car with no evident problems.

First mod, naturally, was a COBB AccessPort.

Today I got a chance to get her on a lift and poke my nose around to see what's what. Did an oil change, changed the trans fluid to FoMoCo XT-M5-QS synthetic fluid. Some things I didn't get pics of, such as the JBR short shift plate, solid shifter bushings, and what is suspected to be a short throw shifter as well.

She has this weird intake that I can't identify, with a K&N filter....

....and a rear motor mount which we suspect is a JBR, but it's very stiff and I will probably swap it out for a lighter duro. I still have the RMM from my 3's build, so I'll give that one a try.

Someone also got rid of the second resonator, which I discovered today as well.

Then I put some of the goodies I got off my 3 build to use for the Speed and installed them. My CorkSport interior LEDs are installed, my CP-e license plate bracket awaits plates, and I put on my NRG shift knob I got from Ryan a while back. Now the shift pattern is wrong, however, so I may find a new knob. I'm going to see if my strut tower brace will fit.

And, of course, there were my MS6 wheels...

That intake is definitely made for some other car. I would like to see what the fuel trim looks like with that SRI.

So, recent improvements: got the rear motor mount from my 3 installed instead of that massive JBR mount, and it's much more manageable. Finally identified the intake as one for a Subaru. Traded off the JBR short shift plate for a rear cargo cover. Got new tint installed. Swapped out my BPV for a black Forge v1.

I got a new grille insert without holes in it from license plate brackets, and installed my TowPlate when I got my tags...

Today I installed my new HTP 3" intake/TIP pipe, powdercoated white. It makes nice noises :) MAF calibration/tuning have begun.

And finally, got my KSport coilovers installed today as well. The height needs a little more adjustment, but so far I like it a lot. Just need to learn to go REALLY slow over speedbumps...

Any knob updates? Curious, how did Mr. Ryan feel about you hastily tossing out his knob, for a new knob?

LOL, it wasn't hasty. I love that knob. I'm thinking about redoing the shift pattern on it so I can put it back in. I just didn't want to risk a situation where someone else drives the car and puts it in the wrong gear and then.......
You know? ;)

Oh, and got my ride height set where I want it.

Today installed my Defi Red Racer boost gauge, with a CP-e defroster mount. The gauge responds perfectly, does self-tests on startup, and the color matches well with my dash, both when the lights are off, and when the dimmer works. The pictures don't really look like the color matches, but it does when you're sitting in the car. I love it.

Where did you run the wiring and tube for the gauge, did you have to drill a hole?
