Traded in my '10 3 Sport Hatch 6MT in on a '12 Speed 3 on Friday. Really didn't have any plans to trade, but got a great deal on the MS3 without tech package. The car is SO much more solid than the '10 it replaced. And I'm actually getting decent MPG so far (30mpg according to the car computer...we'll see what Fuelly says when I fill up).

Extremely happy with the car. Just wish the Qualir head unit I had in my 3 would work with it, but it's not compatible with the Bose system. :(

Here's a picture. :)

Congrats on the trade-in. The MS3 would pull a premium one week before race wars. :D

Any plans to void the warranty?

it will decimate all, once we put about 10 grand into it, and if necessary, overnight parts from japan

You positive there are no modules to integrate your beloved head unit for Bose? I bought a module to adapt a Pioneer unit to my Avalanche's bose system. Just in case you hadn't been aware of the possibility.

Nice ride.

Nice ride.

Running off to teh intranets to search if there's one right now. Thanks for the tip!! :)

I've worked around a Bose, and also a McIntosh system in the past (they're both similar in principle), but it was 20 years ago when I worked around the Bose system so I'm not sure if things have changed with their setup. The McIntosh system was in my '01 Outback, and I silmply ran wires from the aftermarket head unit, to the other side of the amp under the passenger seat. I'll have to check into a module. Again, thanks. :)

They have a model designed for the Bose system (Model :QL-MZD973), which may mean they can supply a retrofit for you, but who knows.

Ok. So I couldn't find a module to work around the Bose (I did find one for GM vehicles, but not for Mazda). However, I did do some searching for a wiring schematic for the Bose system (I will attach below). Depending on how the HU is powered (hopefully NOT from one of the amp harnesses), I should be able to buy reverse harnesses for the amp harnesses and wire them together so it's plug and play and easily reversible.

I have a guy (his SN is svxDC on numerous forums), that I will ask what the harness numbers are so I can order some reverse harnesses and get to work. It may take a few weeks to get it straightened out, but it looks like this might be doable (this is exactly how I worked around the McIntosh system in my old Outback).

I will keep people posted.
