Firestone have a special brake repair for $99. They will replace the pad using "Wagner QC1044 ThermoQuiet Ceramic Disc Brake". Had anybody ever use this brand and how well do it perform.?

I also have to replace my rotor. In comparison between Autozone (Duralast/Brake Rotor - Front) for $47 and AdvanceAutopart (Wearever Brake Rotor ) for $47.99, any suggestion of which one is better?

I was thinking of buying the rotor and have Firestone install it since they will replace the brake anyway. The Firestone price is at $248 for a pair of rotor.

If you can find a good deal on Centric rotors or Brembo rotor blanks those would be great options.

Can't speak to the others you mentioned. I have Centric Premiums on mine.

well advance and autozone both sell crap, and the pads that firestone will put on will eat rotors like you wouldn't believe. (this is due to the pad compound that provides low noise and low dust) I prefer NAPA auto parts for the system in my car that is responsible for bringing it to a halt. I also recommend Bendix brand brake pads or O'rielly sells Performance Friction Pads, hell even the Mazda OEM pads will be so much better than Firestone crap.

Please don't penny pinch when it comes to brakes, you only have to replace them once every what, two years? Is saving $100 on parts really worth it when it means you are using questionable parts on the system that is responsible for slowing a 3500 pound vehicle from highway speed?

I got Brembo discs for my wife's Jetta there for a good price.

Oh it's not that hard to replace the discs and pads yourself.

If you need tools you can rent the master disc brake kit at advanceautoparts. I think they'll charge you $100 but they will refund it all back when you return the kit. So it's FREE.

I agree, i should not go cheap when it come to brake. This is what people at autopartswarehouse.com suggest is best for me.

For a direct fit.

Front:
278 - 320 mm disc diameter (10.94 -12.6 in)

Rear:
265 - 280mm disc diameter (10.43 - 11.02 in)

Just put in your car model and it will list the parts that will fit. Make sure you go with Direct Fit to be sure.
