Ended up receiving these in the mail at my old address. Have an appointment tomorrow at Groove to see what's what!

Nice, keep us posted Barn.
Upon further look, my mailer contained two-- one for 'white smoke' and one for the 'vvt' (which I didn't see the first time). I've always heard a ticking, but I believe that is normal...the vvt tick is a bit more obnoxious. Perhaps I'll need to take mine in too?

Just got the car back from Groove. Everything checked out with the the symptoms of the recall; no work performed.
They did spot that my right rear wheel was missing a lug however, so they procured one of those for me and got everything torqued back to spec. Also decided to get the wheels rebalanced and rotated at Firestone, since that's where I bought the tires.

Do either of you really ever drive your cars? Well, at least I have seen ~Barn~'s in person.

I got one in the mail as well. After about 6 months of owning our MS6, the seals on the turbo when out and just billowed out white smoke when at idle. There we quite of few others that had the issue at the time and if you had any mods on the car certain dealers would not warranty it. I wonder if Mazda will reimburse those they turned away.

Hopefully my luck continues, but not only did Groove not say anything about my rather obvious array of aftermarket stuff, they told me that even though it "checks-out" now, to make sure and get it back in if it starts exhibiting any of the symtoms. I'm only at 55k on the clock right now, so I still have 15k more to go, within the terms of the extension.

I think there was a part in the letters about reimbursing you if you've had it fixed... give it a try

hmmmmm, thats kind of odd. because a local guy down in pueblo had the VVT done and like a month or two later, his whole motor seized up. luckely he got the motor replaced under warrenty.

I've opened a case with Mazda corporate, so they can investigate potential coverage of my meltdown. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
