CP-E TurboBack Exhaust Questions

Postby Speed3 » Fri Jun 17, 2011 9:14

Ok, so i'm thinking about getting this exhaust in the next week or so, i've watched videos and it sounds like the best sounding exhaust to me, only downside is the cost.. any extra info (good or bad) that someone can give me before i spend this much money.. Can I go with a cheaper downpipe and get the same sound? Stuff like that.. Thanks!

I'm not convinced that the CBE actually gives you any performance numbers. For my buck I'd go with a Magnaflow which is about half the cost and a much deeper note.

The CP-E downpipe added a lot of sound to my car and lots of power (relatively speaking) to boot, and it's plently loud without switching out the CBE.

OK cuz i've looked at the tbe videos and i love how loud and deep they are.. If i'm spending the money i definitely want to go with the downpipe for power and it seems like speeds with the downpipe sound so much deeper and louder than cars with just the cbe

Unless your putting down 350whp your stock exhaust is more then good. you only going to get 3-5hp. if your looking for hp then you need a downpipe and test pipe, thats where you will see numbers.

The CP-E catback sounds awesome. I loved mine. But I had straight pipe with no mufflers and no resonator. Once I put on a CP-E catless downpipe it was too loud and unrefined and just sounded like ###. So if you do get the CP-E catback, get it with at least a resonator to quiet it down and take that uber raspy edge off the sound. But to answer one of your original questions, any catless downpipe should sound the same. Most of your sound comes from the catback.

Edit - My bad, I did have one resonator. Here's a video to show just how shitty it sounded, especially on cold startup.

That would be ideal but I kinda want to keep the cost under 1000 if that's possible
