brown coolant =(

so i just randomly checked my coolant today and it was dirty brown.... :eek: so i called a mechanic he said head gasket is blown, but some other mechanics just telling me do a flush and see what happens, ........ what should i do i got a person who can change head gasket for 300$ (labor) + parts...... if any body had that problem in their miata let me know plz =)

hm, it just might be stop leak or residue of it. if its creamy brown its usually oil one of the signs of a blown head gasket. does the car blow white smoke consistantly? if not then you have nothing to worry about.

Check your oil for coolant contamination. It'll look like white stuff in your oil.

Has your radiator turned brown? Over time Miata radiators will turn brown and need to be replaced. Might just need to replace the radiator and do a coolant flush and you'll be good.
