welcome, theres alot of knowledgeable people here. and the girl/gar car jokes never cease unfortunately, you get used to it. Like you said, the people that know what a miata can do, wont make serious jokes about it. and the people that do, just dont know how fun it is to drive.
I actually had to replace that radio surround once on my '90 because someone snapped it to steal my stereo, it was pricy back then, i dont know how the prices are now. but glad you got it fixed. it looks like it's in awesome condition too!
to put my 2 cents in: Prepare to pay half of what you paid for the car for a hardtop, which will probably be more than the price of a used greddy turbo kit.(currently brand new the turbo kits are going for between $1400, and $1500)
your current plans are a great start, with just intake header and catless exhaust my old 1990 put down 99whp on a mustang dyno
your two best options for a lip are the r-package oem lip which is 159 from r-speed

or the garage vary (holy grail of the jdm crowd) for 218-228

for exhaust, unless you already have your mind set, or the parts purchased. i personally like the obx (ebay) header and single exit exhaust. or go with the tsudo n1 if you like the canister look more. its cheap, all stainless steel mandrel bent pipe, and not buzzy or annoying but ill tell you from experience, going without a cat is going to make it MUCH louder

thank you but a guy at exhaust pro's is giving me a good deal so im just gona bring him my apexy ws2 exhaust there from honda and his going to cut it up make me new pipes weld everything and put it on and im not going to get header =( but i want to find hard top used for like maybe 300-400 $ if not than ill be with convertible roll bar and strut bar , and i WISH (2nd picture with the lip) they would be so much cheaper.... =(

Yeah, the hardtop is gonna cost you a pretty penny. Don't expect to find one in any sort of good condition for much under $1,000. Usually prices hover at or above $1,000. There is demand for the factory hardtops for racing. Aftermarket hardtops might actually be cheaper. Sounds like you enjoy the car so far. Looking forward to the progress that is made on it!

Welcome. If you took an RSX Type S in a race to 80 either he wasn't trying or your car already has a lot of mods, heh. They have almost twice the horsepower, even if they are about 800lbs heavier.

yeah i did notice that but didnt want to say anything, a stock 1.6l does 0-60 mph in 7.9 seconds and a stock rsx-s will do it in about 6.7... maybe the rsx driver just had no clue what he was doing..

Welcome to the club! I joined the "Miata Elite" not too long ago myself, and so far have sustained plenty of "girl car jokes"

I just replaced that interior trim piece yesterday on mine, took me maybe ~5 minutes or so, pretty easy. From everything I've been reading on these cars, if you don't care about being bumped out of an autoX class, it seems that in basic NA form (without booting the car, or ripping apart the bottom end/motor swap), engine management seems to be what enables people to pick up the largest NA gains (at least under the curve).

Either way, good luck with the car, I'm sure it will be fun!

P.S. Are my eyes deceiving me, or is your Miata wearing studded snow tires?!? Haha! If so, that's awesome. :D

LOL, I WISH my car would do 0-60 in 7.9 seconds. I timed it once and it was around 14 seconds to 60.
