Thank God For Good Brakes

I was coming back from the gym this morning, trying to make it through a light ahead of me. It went yellow and I thought I could make it, but at the last minute, I figured out I couldn't. Oh, and there was a CSPD cruiser sitting at the intersection perpendicular to my left.
CRAP.
Locked 'em up and screeched to a halt about ten feet past the line. Slowly put it in reverse and backed up as the cruiser drove by in front of me VERY slowly, the nice officer looking to be sure I was OK...yeah, I'm sure that's what he was doing....must have seen that I was pale and having a heart attack because he decided to leave me alone.
Thank you Mr. Officer. You're a good man, though I might have needed some CPR.
Oh, btw...wintersport M3s make a LOT of noise in that situation.
