MS6 2007 dealership letter

I found this letter and it seems to show a lot of interesting stuff about the 07 MS6 including stock boost and mpg. It also says something about "free foating pistons" in the engine connected to steel connecting rods and a steel crankshaft.

Iv searched around and I still have no idea what "free foating pistons" are and what ones are used in the speed6. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks all
