So my stock "Panasonic" battery finally died. After buying a replacement from Autozone that doesn't quite fit, but according to them is the correct one, I've been in search of other options. I like the idea of 20+ lbs weight savings. Does anyone have any experience with any of these lightweight batteries like the Odyssey, Gruberpower, Braille, etc. batteries? Can anyone make a recomendation for a speed6?!?

What battery did the Autozone guys give you? I got a replacement from them that was the exact same size. I will see if I can track down the model# on it.

I am really just interested in finding a good LIGHTWEIGHT BATTERY now...

Never used one, but have heard nothing but great things about Braille batteries.

Goldrocket on here uses Kinetik batteries and is very happy with them.

i used to have an odyssey pc680 on my old rx7. i was very happy with it.

Just never needed one. Haven't had to replace my battery yet, and don't feel like paying for something i don't really need right now. When my battery dies i will probably get one. I'm saving weight in other ways, like being anorexic .

Stay away from Braille Batteries. A friend of mine in Phoenix had one and it was nothing but trouble. Left him stranded plenty of times. It got to the point where he had to disconnect the negative battery terminal if the car was going to sit for more than 4 hours..ya, that bad.

And in case you think he got a bad apple, he had it swapped, TWICE (!), for warranty replacements, with then same results.

I would get an Oddesy PC680. But just remember, small, lightweight batteries will never hold a charge as well as a larger group 51 battery or an Optima. So carry jumper cables!

i ran mine during the winter starts up a little slower when it was about 10-15 degrees outside. but other than that it held up fine.

+1 on jumper cables or a small jumper box. i always brought mine with me wherever i went just in case.

Truth!!!!! My wife had to remove mine, while I was out of town and she said it about broke her back. Then again she only weighs about 100lbs herself......

Thanks guys, appreciate it! Funny, I just got back from a year in Phx, and thats when my battery went, after a few "cold" nights here. Sounds like Odyssey might be the way to go - any suggestions on where to buy?

Wow that Genesis EP is kinda tempting at 12lbs and $120!! Is 13ah enough tho? -and they dont say what the cranking amps are.. The pc680 is 16ah...
