Driving down I-25 at about 8:30 tonight... coming home from picking up the last of the Christmas presents. Going around a long turn in pretty heavy traffic and out of nowhere there was a hunk of metal infront of me. Nowhere to go at all so I slowed down as much as I could but still clipped the side of it... To cut to chase though it flung up and hit my passenger side front door. It made atleast a foot long crease in the door and took all the paint with it. Going to the bodyshop soon to get an estimate. Sucks but it was unavoidable. But hey on the bright side of things that door has a good size door ding in it so maybe I can get that fixed too :)

Probably Brighton Auto Body since our insurance reccomends them. I think they work with most insurance companies actually, so they must be pretty good? My parents have taken 2 different cars there and they both came out looking as good as new. I'm a little worried still though. I think they are going to have to repaint the whole door. Is there anything I should ask them about how they are going to fix the crease or how they are going to paint it?

I don't trust companies that insurance agencies recommend. They usually work with/forr the insurance company than with you. My Aunt has had bad experiences with the company her insurance recomends. That's why my cousins eclipse is going to the little shop that has done my bros cars and mine. If your happy with the company that they recomend go with them.

How bad is the crease. If it's bad and they can't pull it out and get it close to what it was they may just put a lode of bondo. If it's really bad they may get you a new door but I doubt it. Post some pics.

For my car, they actually replaced the outer skin of the door rather than the entire door itself. It is much cheaper, and there is no bondo involved, so it won't cave in after repeated door closings.

Got my first estimate today in the amount of $1,019 from Brighton Auto Body. I didn't notice last night but the side skirt was just barely hanging on so I'm needing a new one of those too. They are good people over there, but I'd still like to see what another bodyshop says. Can you send me the info for the shop that did your car Greek8?

Sorry no pictures guys, woke up first thing this morning and took off. The crease was so large though that I could plainly see it across the parking lot :(

Yea nothing I could do, just like 10 ft infront of me and bam it was over in seconds. I wish it was summer already so we could all have another meet again. I want to meet up and get to know most of you for once... Since I'm wishing already; I wish I could win the lotto and buy the supercharger kit for my car too :)
