MSP Turbo Upgrade

Postby MSP SuperStreet » Sun Jun 06, 2010 9:14

So a member on Mazda247 (Canada) decided to part out his engine build after investing big money and time. He never did get it installed. So I decided to take advantage of this opportunity and purchase the parts to complete my Turbo upgrade.

Anyone interested in Turbo charging their Protege?? I'll be looking to sell my existing turbo set-up. Stock Turbo, exhaust mani, DP, upgraded SMIC.

Nice man I saw that over there that shits going to be sick! Hey don't you have either the corksport s-pipe, or some other aftermarket s-pipe? If so is that for sale or is it just the stock s-pipe?

[color=black][font=Verdana]Parts List:

Custom MAM Newest Version SS Sleeper Manifold. This mani has the stock runners from MAM but has had a slightly shortened collector, T3 flange vs a T2, 44mm TiAL EWG V-band flange & pipe added. It was then ceramic coated in Polished (outside) and XMC coating (inside) by Fireball Coatings.

Custom SS 3" Downpipe w/ Flex Section and QTP Electric Cutout - This started as a MAM DP. The 5 bolt T2 Flange was replaced with a 3"ID 4-bolt flange. Includes an added flex section for expansion/contraction, an O2 bung, 3" Braided Flex, and QTP Electronic Cutout. This was also coated with the polished ceramic coating outside and XMC inside as the manifold had.

Electronic cutout gate for "Y" pipe in downpipe...

All thats left is choosing the Turbo :confused:

I'm torn between a GT28rs and a GT3071R.
Third option is to go with a custom built Precision Turbo to compliment my current mods. Need to make-up my mind by Saturday so I can start scheduling my build.

I will be replacing my GHL 3" Downpipe, T304 polished stainless steel.

I would like to try and sell (at a great price) my complete turbo set-up to someone locally/club member to turbo their NA Protege. I'll be listing the complete kit plus extras soon.

If I am not sucessful, I will part-out and you will have dibbs on the downpipe if your still interested.

Looks good man!

If it was me, I'd go GT3071R in a heartbeat, but I'm all for going big (so I'd actually do a GT35R with a new GTX billet wheel hehe)
