AutoExe Carbon Fiber

I bought Wyosaints carbon fiber grill that she got from Streetunit.com, very expensive piece, lists for $417 on their site, sometimes on sale for $377...anyways

I would have thought this was a high quality piece, sturdy solid carbon fiber, right? WRONG, this piece is JUNK. It is a fiberglass mold with one thin layer of carbon fiber wrapped on the outside. How do I know? Well,.....

Installed the grill with the 2 top screws, and noticed that it needed some sort of way to mount on the bottom, so I went to buy 3M double sided tape to help hold it down, meantime, my wife drives my car to work.. She calls me saying, "Honey, you're gonna be pissed.." Let me say right now, I never let my wife drive my car, due to the previous issues I had with her curbing 2 of my wheels at once.. She told me that the new grill had basically folded and cracked in half!! Not to mention, it fucked up my bumper, put a big ass crease right where the grill mounts. She brought the car home, and I was sooo shocked at how much damage this grill did to my car, and how much damage the grill itself had. It was basically shattered into 3 pieces.

This reminds me of the guy who had the S2000 at the car show at MOL. He told us that pretty much EVERY piece of carbon fiber you see on cars in America is junk and not real carbon fiber.. TRUTH TOLD

Obviously, I would not recommend this part, or any of Autoexe's "carbon fiber" parts, unless you are doing purely for looks, and dont care about quality

Wow that sucks. JDM hype fo sho. I have been able to luck out with my carbon fiber and get good authentic pieces.

It's weird because I know AutoEXE makes some good stuff. Overpriced, tho.

Do you know where WyoSaint bought it? There should be some recourse for a part that didn't last long and did damage...at least a refund or a new part.

the guy who works right next to my shop does body work...does a really good job too, but i dunno about carbon fiber...i know he does fiberglass.

And i really dunno about pricing for that kinda stuff, but paint and regular body work, he's hooked my and angie up, so I'm sure he'll hook up other CMZC members as well

boo...yeah i asked chris next door to me and he said he can do carbon fiber, but it'd be expensive since he doesn't have the means to mass produce, but it can be done!!!

I know his other work is awesome, so i'd imagine this would be top notch as well.

His shop is Ride Innovations on 114th and Huron if anyone is interested in talking to him.
