heres a idea for you. sweet looking kit car (factory five type 65 coupe), modern turbo drive train. what motor would you use, what would you want in it.

If we are talking factory turbo motors (which I think was your original intention)...probably a 1JZ-GTE, or a 20B-REW would be sweet too. Maybe an SR20DET for the weight factor.

i was thinking motors that support boost well from the factory (or oe turbo), with aftermarket support

i didnt even think about the 20b .... i was reading a magazine last week with some guy that has like 3 rx-7's 2 with 20b's making over 500 hp

If we're talking factory turbo motors... depending on what we're trying to fit it in.

If it can fit an inline-6 TT without a problem I would go with a 2JZ-GTE, really can't beat it. Cast iron block, fully forged internals, low compression ect. It's a solid bottom end to work with.

If we can only fit a 4-banger in there, even though I'm very conflicted, I think the 4G63 is one of the most stout turbo motors out there for the same reasons as the 2JZ, cast iron block, forged internals ect. If you're looking to save a few pounds with an aluminum block maybe an SR20DET.

If we're looking for an OEM boosted V8, that's reasonably affordable (no uber-expensive exotics), even though it was supercharged not turbo, I would probably go with the Ford modular 4.6L 32V DOHC SC motor from the 2003-2004 SVT Cobra. I've heard of people putting down 1000whp on the stock bottom end, very beefy. If you could swing the extra cash, I would rather run the 5.4L version in the new GT500 though

looking at some of the pics a inline 6 might not fit.... 4g63 would be hot... like the one in the top shop challenge
