so you may have seen my post about wanting to buy a rx7. well after searching and searching i really couldent find any that werent in the 250,000 mile club so with much arguing with myself.......... I bought a MIATA!!!!!:D just wanted to say thanks for helping me look for an rx7 and hope to see you guys soon at some events.

i kinda like that greddy bolt on turbo. but other than that just the normal stuff. sway bars, lowering springs, strut braces ect... ill probably go with a kit from racing beat for the handeling and than the greddy kit down the road. any other ideas?

if you do some research on the greddy kit, you'll find that down the road, you'll end up replacing just about every component except the turbo itself.. spend a little more on an FM or a BEGI kit.

Have you had it checked for the shortnose crank failure?

im kinda an entry level tuner the most ive ever installed on a car was nitrous and handling mods. i liked the greddy because it was fairly simple for a novice and affordable. it would be nice to get one of those cool voodo kits or something along that range. and shortnose crank failure?

It is nearly impossible to check for cracking in the crankshaft without taking things apart, however you can inspect the crankshaft pulley to see if it is wobbling when the engine is running. A wobble could indicate a failed crankshaft or a worn keyway. Low speed loss of power and hesitation can also be a symptom, though it may also simply be worn ignition wires or in need of proper timing.

yeah sorry about the misspell movovr. and yeah that turbo is just about the same price considering the greddy's shipping cost is like 200 bucks. thanks for the info.

I checked the pully and it seems solid but now that you mention it i did think that the car was a bit gutless at low rpm compared to like my old crx. but i diddent know if that was a miata thing or what. and now that i looked at that turbo kit you showed me it looks way better than the greddy. thanks

Don't let the low rpm gutlessness (is that a word?) worry you that much. it's a 1.6 at altitude. Rev the snot out of it and enjoy.
