Miata put to bed for the winter

Well,

The last ride in the Miata was 11/15 on Sunday. The wife and took it for one last fun in the sun day with the top down. It has been garaged for the rest of the winter. Last Sunday I finished the bed time for it.

Tires have been filled up to 40 PSI to prevent flat spots over the winter.

StaBil Gas treatment was added to the gas tank and driven up thru the fuel system.

The only thing left is to drop 2 oz of oil in each cylinder to keep the internals lubed until next May.

I am already missing the drives up thru Deer Creek Canyon on my rides home from work.

Until next year I will just have to have fun driving in the snow and ice with my 2008 Mazda 3

Jack stands are bad for the suspension all kidding aside I would be better off pulling all the tires and putting concrete blocks under the rotors. Think I will park in the yard on concrete blocks and be one of the Yard People. I have shit in the garage I can throw out there next to it to get the full effect. Just kidding man, Mine is in the garage.

What happens when you sit the car on jack stands is it puts stress on all the suspension bushings and will prematurally where them out. I would rather drive on flat spotted tires until they round out again then put stress on the suspension. The car is meant to sit on the ground and hanging the suspension up in the air will cause damage to the bushings.

Thanks for the idea but it is not a good idea to do this.

Huh. Just read through M.net on the subject and learned something new today. Never having been one to put away the Miata for the winter, I never knew the common mode of thought on the matter...
