I have a little emergency here, I am wondering if ANYBODY in the metro area has the lower half to the stock downpipe (not the stock cat, but the second half of the dp) available for me to borrow for a few days. Guaranteed to be returned within 5 days..
I am willing to drive anywhere to get the piece, so let me know somebody please ASAP!!!

I might have one... I'll check the garage when I get home. If so, no need for "borrowing", you can have it as I have no use for it
I gutted the cat on a stock MS6 downpipe back in the day, but can't remember what I did with the extra stock DP I had.... I'll let you know.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I'll take a look when I get home from work tonight. If you want, PM me your phone number, and I'll give you a call later

Im trying to see if my insurance will cover 2 tows for me....that would be the logical situation, just remove the cp-e downpipe, have it towed to mazda for them to work on, and the have it towed back, so I can reinstall the cp-e, rather than having to remove the cp-e, then reinstall AND remove the stocker...but we'll see. Let me know if you find it, Ill let you know if Im going the "tow" route....thanks again

For reference, you can drive the car without the full length DP in place technically... although without the Primary/WB O2 sensor (located in the top of the DP, prior to the first cat), your car will idle & drive like shit, you'll have a CEL and you will get piss poor fuel economy. The primary O2 basically just makes corrections to closed loop (partial throttle/cruise/idle) fuel maps, and secondary O2 (located behind the 2nd cat) is pretty much useless, as it only senses emissions, which will throw a CEL, but will not effect your car's driveability. So, technically you *could* just drive it without a DP at all, it *should* start just fine, but will likely just dump fuel, so your AFR trims would be off. It would have made it a lot easier if Mazda would have put the WB O2 in one of the runners on the exhaust manifold like some of the other OEMs do. Just a thought.

Not the car dolly, but the car hauler... Its a twin axle that you drive/roll all the way onto.
