I do think that the latter posts in the thread have a good point. They've engineered the entire drivetrain to be 'good', but constant abuse is going to break something. Engineer the darn thing such that the most common point of failure is not a $20K repair. Turn easily replaceable shafts/axles into a 'consumable', so to speak. Inconvenient? yes. Catastrophic? no. Then, when some idiot goes and upgrades those consumables to some indestructible unobtainium part and nukes the tranny, it's their own stupid fault.
