Threw a CEL today for the first time. Car is now idling high until I put it into gear and drops down to about 800-1000 rpms. Other than that, seems to be running fine. I've heard people having fuel pump and/or purge valve issues? Put everything back to stock and take it in to dealer? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated?

how high is it revving? Is AC on or off? Is this on startup or while driving in general?

Revs to about 1700rpms at idle. As soon as I step on the clutch it drops. Happens at startup mainly but I've noticed it somewhat at lights etc. Need a DashHawk?

If it is the fuel pump or purge valve, then you should have no need to go back to stock. Those are TSB's and as long as you are experiencing symptoms related to the TSB the dealer should fix it no questions asked regardless of mods.

So should I run over and have Sil Terhar check for codes and see if that's the cause? I was just there 2 weeks ago.

So about a month ago I took my car into Sil Terhar and Clark looked at this for me. CEL code was P0850; they found a damaged wire, made the repair, erased CEL and everything was back to normal. Now 30 days later, the exact same thing has happened. CEL is on, car is idling high when stopped, and whenever I step on the clutch the RPM's drop right back to where it should be.... anyone have any suggestions?

Is it the same CEL code? If you don't want to go back to the dealer just yet, you can have the CEL read at almost any auto parts store for free. Did Sil Terhar say how the wire got damaged? If it's damaged again, perhaps it's due to heat or movement. You need to address how it is getting damaged and figure out how to prevent it. Sil Terhar should have no problem helping you on this.

They said they thought it could be from "digging around" while I was installing my intake and bumped/clipped a wire. I don't think that was the case but I was just happy to have them fix it. What's strange is the symptoms are the exact same as before. I don't know what the code is currently as I don't have a way to read it.

If the symptoms are exactly the same it is likely the exact same problem. As Rich said, there must be some sort of heat or vibration (or both) that is burning through that wire's insulation and causing it to short. I don't know much about MS3s, but it's entirely possible this is being caused by your modifications. To find out if it's throwing the same code you can just take it to any auto parts store, AutoZone, Checker, Advance, etc. and have it read for free. Just tell them your check engine light is on and ask them to scan it.

Sounds like an Idle speed control issue. Maybe whatever the wiring issue was, did not get repaired correctly, or just not soon enough and a short damaged the idle speed control motor.

More info...this morning as I'm sitting at a light idling, my RPM's started bouncing up and down from 700 - 1500 - 700 - 1500 (all in about 4seconds). I stepped on the clutch and it stopped and stayed at 1500. I'll be stopping into Advance today to read the CEL and taking all mods off tonight.....stay tuned.

That sounds more and more like an idle speed control motor.

Stopped at Advance to check the code: P0850 Park/Neutral Switch Input Circuit.....

Troy try calling CPE and seeing if any of the wires from the standback even touch that wire?
