So, a guy over on 6club is building a friggin' BEAST. I'm not talking a simple turbo swap either.....customer exhaust mani, GT3582 turbo, custom DP, external wastegate, built block and all. If it doesn't put down 450 hp I'll be surprised.

I've been following that thread for awhile as well. There is no way I could justify that kind of expense on a car I bought brand new, at least not with the money I make now. I could see doing a project like that on a used/project car but I just couldn't do it on mine.

It's nice to finally see someone doing it right though. There are far too may people on that forum who have no idea what they are doing with a turbo swap.

Insane. I have a British car to work on whilst :P I drive my Mazda.

Anything worth doing is worth overdoing! Must be nice to go out back and pick the money tree for funds.

The guy charged me $125 to ceramic coat my exhaust manifold. He also does powder coating.

I believe that it is either 5 or 7 business days. I can't remember, but I think I turned it over to him on a Friday and he got it back to me the next Monday. It is kind of a sketch looking place, but the work seemed good, and the guy knew more about my manifold than I did.

just curious but why would you want to trap the hear in the valve cover? he has a fmic now right? i could imagine that the ceramic would increase oil temps substantially

His IC piping still travels over the valve cover, and oil is able to perform a heat exchange much easier than the air in his IC piping. Since he's probably more concerned with his boost temps vs. oil temps, I figured ceramic would be the way to go.

my girlfriend works at the upholstry store next to that one off topic but yah sweet i've heard he is good at powder coating
