Im trying to decide between a TMIC and a FMIC....Right now i am leaning towards the front mount...just because i like the look a little more, no real reason. I know some of you know much more about me about this, any input is greatly appreciated!!

So I'm not sure how true this is but when it was explained it kinda made sense to me. The amount of tubing/plumbing that you have running between turbo and intake effects the amount of power your car makes. I would love to see a dyno proving this between an upgraded TMIC and a FMIC on a Speed3 or 6.

tmic is easier to install and work with for dealer visits. Also, fmic generally will have slightly more turbo lag. But fmic will have less heatsoak and likely produce more power than a tmic overall

I would also look at if it is your daily driver. Here in Colorado there are a lot of rocks and gravel on the road that can get damage the FMIC. The other thing is, what are your HP goals. If you are not looking to hit big HP's go with a TMIC. Cheaper, easy to install, and will still see some good gains.

^Good points.
The thing that i keep coming back to, is that a fmic will produce more consistent numbers. I realize the stock and any upgraded tmic are not bad, and do well at keeping things cool, but man o man when they heat soak they take all your power down with them. The Cobb fmic has shown very little turbo lag and a very small amount of pressure drop; .68 or something if i'm not mistaken. The biggest thing between the two other than the obvious is the price... which i suppose is also obvious. fmic's run way more money than a new tmic. Its a hard decision, but i'm still going to go with a fmic in the end.

I personally will go with the TMIC....I think for the price and the ease of install its the best bang for the buck.....As far as the CX7 drivers with this they love it....One guy just took it off to see how different it was...and he said the torque was gone and took longer for the turbo to spool...and the throttle response was awful without it....

I had the ETS 2.5 core on mine for about 4 months, it is a huge difference from stock. Was damaged in the accident and insurance would not pay for it. The only time I had problems from heat soak was in Stop and Go traffic(when you got moving again it cooled down pretty quick). You will notice a power gain from the more efficient core and actually get a higher boost pressure to your intake(less pressure loss). Trust me I have noticed a big difference having stock back on. I am still debating on which route to take, but think I will go with TMIC again. I do lots of highway travel so rocks and road debris is a big concern to me as this is my DD. Look at your radiator to see what fin damage is there, you will be surprised, now imagine having a $600 core 5in forward of that(damn Colorado roads). But they do look pretty. IDK we will see when I get the funds together. The ETS is a very nice piece for the money.

I agree with Andrew and lean toward the FMIC in actual gains. Guess I'd have to drive a Speed with an upgraded TMIC to "feel" the gain. But then again I've run against a few of you guys with upgraded TMIC's and still walked away from you. And when it was close, it wasn't like any monster power difference. So really, whats the gain in spending $500? Less heatsoak on a hot day at a standstill? Which really doesn't matter when you're actually moving and driving. I'll spend a 1/5 ($100) of that and gain 10whp+ in Spark Plugs alone.... My
