Anyone tried or found a company that makes an Engine Damper vs installing a new rear mount? I work next to a place that makes them and though about having them use my car as a test vehicle but wanted to see what others have found. I might walk over today and talk with them and mention the club as well.

What place are you speaking of? Ingalls in Louisville used my RX8 as their test vehicle.

yep, Ingalls. I am within rock-throwing distance of their shop. What was your impressions of the experience?

An engine damper is like a sway bar- it's transparent until you need it. If you have a super stiff sway bar, you won't notice it in normal straight-line driving or going over speed bumps or other bumps that compress the suspension evenly. However when you take a corner, the sway bar acts like stiffer springs to help keep the car flatter through the corner. You can do effectively the same thing by using stiffer springs- but anytime you hit a bump or other imperction in the road, you will feel it more vs the softer springs.

A stiffer engine mount will be felt any time the engine is running (I have a full set of poly engine mounts on my Protege). The damper should retain the stock mount ride quality but also keep the engine from rocking too much.

Def. I talked to them yesterday and they will call me when they are ready to do the mockups and start testing. Also gave them Eric's info for a speed 6 model.
