So I was driving to work on I-25 today and going bout 80 mph in the fast lane with everyone else and all of a sudden this lovely piece of wood dont know what damn size a 2x2??? was in the middle of the road and didnt have much room to swerve because of the wall and a car on the other side.. Anyways I hit that shit HARD. To the point my rearview mirror was showing me my shifter lol. I pulled over immediately as my dash was lit up all over the place beeping at me. Get a police report filed since there were 3 other cars there 4 including me that had either hit it or got in an accident avoiding it. Got a flat bed and towed back to my apartment :( Took the rim off an axle and stuff looks okay for now I'll see.

BIG THANKS TO ROADRUNNR6 (Crystal and Joe) for the spare rim and Jack for coming out and helping as well.

Damn Josh that sucks. Did it wedge between your spokes and snap it? No damage to the body?! You're lucky you didn't wreck.

No damage to the body at all... The 2x2 managed to just be run over but talk about hitting it hard... Thankfully this torque steer monster has taught me to hold on for dear life lol and didn't jerk too bad once the tire let out all the air.

so someone said I might be able to file a claim with CDOT since it was debris on the freeway and there was already and accident so they had been informed of it... Any truth to this at all? I have a police report and everything.

Yeah, you can try to file a claim with CDOT, but since it wasn't a result of the highway, I don't think it will go too far. If there was construction and the transition between the old road to the construction was very violent, then you might have a case. But since was a piece of trash that fell off of a truck, then I don't think CDOT will do anything. If someone would have seen the truck that dropped the wood, then you could file a claim against them.

dunno...long shot there, like asking them to fix your chipped paint/windshield or align your car because of all the pot holes...

sorry to hear about that, and your fingernail looks nasty...stop letting lee abuse it.
