Took the MS6 up to Woody P today for my son's track meet. Was pretty conservative going up -- there were cops EVERYWHERE. On the way home, though, I opened it up a little more, and let me tell you -- that car is FUN up there. My old 6 was fun in the twisty-turnies, but the MS6 just has SO much more power and hugs the road even better than the old car did. My son was a little white-knuckled when we got down to Old Colo City finally. I wanted some more turns, though!

Very nice. THe only scary moment was when I passed a guy in a Jeep Liberty and my son said, "Dad, he has a badge on!"

That required some creative slowing down. But it turned out to be a school emblem or some such on his shirt. Whew!

Had some fun with a Mustang GT on the way home too, though it was too busy for anything more than some light follow-the-leader. ANd I was the leader. :D

He loves the MS6 and knows that if I get a ticket, I'll have to drive it like a grandma. And my wife will kill me.

How old is your son?

My dad had a 1986 VW Scirocco when I was 13 and 14. I loved that car. I think that's where my passion for small, quirky, FWD, sporty cars originated. The timing chain/belt conviniently broke before I was of driving age. Coincidence? Ah, it was probably for the best. I learned how to drive at the wheels of lots of very underpowered cars. My Protege is the most powerful daily driver that I've had- at the crankshaft anyway. My Saturn was rated at less but dyno'd about 18 hp more at the wheels.

Isn't the MS6 great at elevation? When every other car is sucking wind at 8k feet, you can just breeze right on. I'll never have another N/A car as long as I live here....

I like to take my car down highway 103 on the way to Mt. Evans. There is a nice succession of long corners that allows you push the car. I give all I got on the uphill. The downhill kind of scares me as gravity always works with you to bring your car down the ravine :(

I enjoy the downhill sections too, now that I have a manual tranny. SOOO much easier to keep the car under control without smoking the brakes.

I had some trouble with it being hesitant early on, but then I figured out that I was still shifting before 3400 RPM, my gas mileage technique. Once I started letting it boost....MAN that was fun!

I love taking my car on those roads. The problem with my car is a carb.

2nd that. I'll never have another car that doesn't have AWD either.
