So MM sent me maps last night for the 8. So excited. :D I installe his base map and followed his instructions on choosing the best map for my application.

Well of the 11 maps he sends the 2nd map was the one in the right spot. Just emailed him with my findings and at WOT at high rpm it is a little lean so he will be sending me another set of maps that will fix it. I can tell from the map though that the car runs a little smoother and better throughout the RPM range. A little more kick to it.

Hopefully I will be able to make the rotary meet on the 17th and put her on the Dyno to see her numbers finally. Wish I had before and after though. But we have 3 dynos of slightly modded to stock 8's to guestimate the gains so I'm not really worried of that.

Wee. I'm Happy.

Question why not reflash it to stock map on your last run? Then you have your before and after.

Hmm. Good question. I thought about this and thought about doing 2 baslines if no one minded. But I believe that the car needs a few drive cycles to relearn the LTFT and my driving habbits. At least that's the impresion I got from RX8Club. I'll find out from MM but I'm sure that's the reasoning.

It took my car about 10-15 runs to show the gains I received from the AP reflash. The initial runs (prob the first five or so) produced LESS power than prior to the flash. I wouldn't recommend trying to get any difference numbers from only 3 runs. I'm hoping to be there as well, curious to see what the numbers are on a Dynojet vs the Dyno Dynamics.

Congrats on finally getting your maps though!

Thanks Tim. And ya you need to have a few drive cycles in so the car learns everything and the driving habbits. Mebe I could do the MM map in the morning drive around acouple places during the day with the stock map and hope back on at the end of the day.

Dynojet huh. I'll need someone to convert my numbers to Dyno Dynamics numbers then.
