Man, I just wish Ford N.A. would bring some of the small cars here. I like the looks of the sketch here, although it's not coming any time soon.

Man that looks a lot like the new C30. I bet they are rolling off the same line.
I like the look of it.

Way back when, they did. I remember the Merkurs (XR4Ti, Scorpio), the Courier pickups, etc. This one has a lot of C30 as inspiration for the rear.

One of my profs from college had (may still) an XR4Ti. Weren't those built in Canada or something?

I'm pretty sure they were built in Europe, as the XR4Ti was simply a European Ford Sierra.

The new focus is from Euro. And they are about to drop the euro van. I think they call it the Transit, or something like that. Ford is also bringing over the Fiesta. It is going to be smaller then the Focus and looks a little like this one. It will be the first domestic B-car. Ford NA is starting to wake up, again I said starting.

Rheine Germany to be exact. The same motor that was in my Mustang SVO.

The current "new" Focus is still on the old architecture. Hopefully, they new Fiesta sells well, as I think that's a decent looking little car as well. What sucks is that they are probably at this time only bringing the sedan version, and not the hatch. Damnit, what the hell is wrong with a hatch here in the states???

Have you been in the new Focus? it feels like a totaly new car. At my Ford Store, They have already out sold the last two years of the old one. I might, MIGHT, drive one if you took all the badges off. That hatch Fiesta looks tight. Hatchs just dont sell as well here. As gas goes up and SUV drives come back down the vehicle chain, they will for sure be look for a hatch. Wait and see.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing that the new Focus may feel better, it's just not based on the current European Focus, which by most counts, is a better car. It's still a major redesign though, just still based on the previous platform.
I just wish they hadn't put on the now overdone fender vents.

I rented a Focus and drove it from Wichita, KS to Madison, WI and back one weekend back when my 626 was too unreliable to take out of town. I liked it. It handled well, had decent get-up-and-go on the hilly 2 lane highways in Iowa and Wisconsin and the seating position was quite comfortable for 20+ hours behind the wheel.
I knew some guys in Wichita that autox'd their Foci. They were quite fast too.
