So I was putting on my replacement BOV tonight at 2am a little tired and everything got it on perfect and then the RUBBER O RING that fits inside the grooved adapter that connects to the intake manifold dropped and I lost it. I tightened everything up without it but I need to know two things.

1. Will it effect anything not having it there.

2. Where can I get a replacement?

use this pic as a reference... see where the BOV Bolts to the intake manifold? Thats where this rubber O ring is.

check your scrap gard (plastic under car)

Josh go to napa they can make you what ever o-ring you need. If you take off you BOV and show it to them, they can come up with something that will work. It works great. I would not drive it much without it, it will cause a vacuum leak.

i would refrain from working on the car at 2 in the morning...

on a side note I dropped a screwdriver into the engine bay a while back and
it slid down under the engine on the plastic tray so I couldn't reach it. After
about 5 minutes I said f* it and hopped in the car hit reverse, dropped into 1st floored
it and then slammed on the brakes...waa laa screwdriver...

Duct Tape?

For real, though, silicone plumbing tape will get you by until you get a proper replacement. There's no adhesive to melt.

I actually used it on my BOV for 4 days. Flyin Miata neglected to send me the 1/4" > 5/8" adapter collar for the BOV to the intake mani junction pipe with the kit. So the silicone tape was wrapped around the outlet port until it was of the proper thickness for the BOV connector pipe. It actually worked so well that it was a pain in the butt to get off when the collar did show up.

Electrical tape, however, does not work.
