For those of you who don't know... 7:25 is STUPID FAST!! The Standard GT-R lapped the 'Ring in 7:38, which was considered extremely fast... knocking off another 13 seconds is pretty impressive. Here's the article for reference:

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/08/nissan-...stun-observers/

And here's the article content:

"The prototype Nissan GT-R V-Spec, wearing the "Victory Specification" designation reserved for the ultra high-performance Nissan GT-R, has been caught lapping the famed Nürburgring at an incredible, if not simply unbelievable, 7:25 per lap. This, according to bystanders trackside. (For comparison, Walter Röhrl lapped the Ring in 7:28 while driving a Porsche Carrera GT in 2004.)

In contrast to the standard Nissan GT-R, that made the run around the 'Ring in 7:38, the GT-R V-Spec has a new front splitter, modified rear spoiler, and different wheels. A more extensive use of carbon fiber has reportedly reduced the weight by upwards of 330 pounds. Of course, Nissan engineers also tweaked the twin-turbo powerplant for another 70 horses... or so."

And for reference, here's a list of lap times from cars on the Nurburgring taken from Wikipedia:

^^^Quick note, most cars on that list are Euro spec cars. Also, you'll notice there's 3 STi's on that list, 2 Spec C's and one regular STi, it should be noted they didn't test USDM spec STI's, and as such, there are different suspensions for STI's in Japan/Europe. The USDM STI we get here has the more aggressive Euro/JDM Spec C suspension (springs rates, dampeners, sway bars & control arms), not the lower end/softer suspension the "regular" STI gets in Europe/Japan. which is reflected in the fact that the Spec C's (same suspension as USDM minus 13:1 steering rack) are much faster than the regular STI, which makes me happy :D Anyway, you get the idea.

I am very jealous of the fact that you have driven the 'Ring and I have not

I can't wait to hear what kind of price the V-Spec is going to be selling for.

What does your friend do for a living?

Whatever it is I need to get his job haha. If I was ever shopping for a "Supercar", I would probably buy a GT-R... assuming I could actually afford one :(
