This isn't a recall but a service bulletin, for all Speed6, and some Speed3's and some CX-7's.

It came out on 04/02 so it's new. Looks to me like they reflash the ecu and may replace the fuel pump.
It deals with Rough idle, hesitation under cold conditions and intermittent lack of power during acceleration when the engine gets hot.

I have a bit of rough idle (at times) and some hesitation under cold conditions, I'm making the call to my dealer for a check up...

I'm headed in on the 16th for a check up...

Thanks for the info Scott. I don't have any of these issues. But i'd also be afraid for them to reflash my ECU and lose power since I feel mine is pretty strong. Lol

Thanks for the heads up Scott! I am with Jack about reflahses, i am rather timid about them after the reflash mazda issued for the MS6 community and many said they felt as if they lost a good chunk of power. Even Lee thinks his MS6 felt different after the reflash.

Well, I was at the dealer for 4 hours today. No reflash,no new fuel pump. I wasn't having major problems or even minor one, just an occasional little hick-up. They put the car through the fuel pump testing and it came out with flying colors. Guess nothing to worry about....

yeah I suffered from the powerloss in the last reflash, but I think I may need to take mine in and get this checked out. I have had problems with extremely rough idle and the lack of power while driving in warm conditions. I thought something else was going on with it, but I should take it in and see if it is this...

4 HOURS!? Ouch. Glad nothing is wrong though.

FYI, my Speed6 threw a CEL this weekend and had it checked out this morning. Lean mix warning error resulting from low fuel pressure, they are following this TSB procedure. I was not driving hard when this occurred and did not experience any odd running characteristics.

The car did have an inconsistent idle and what I would describe as inconsistent power in 2nd and 3rd between 3k and 4.5k RPM while under load and the turbo spun up.

Currently, the replacement pump is on order. I will post more if I learn anything else.

was it a P2177 code? I had that same code last week, its a lean off idle code, I heard this code is why they have the tsb on the pumps..
However, it is not a guarantee replacement for everybody. They run a few tests on the pump, if it falls within the standard guidelines, they will consider your pump to be fine, and do nothing.

This P2177 code can be caused by a lot of different problems. I had a defective purge solenoid valve that consistently gave me P2177 and P2187 codes. Once the valve was replaced the codes went away. Also, I know the Mazdaspeed CAI can cause lean codes. I started getting the P2177 code shortly after my Standback installation. I had to adjust my fuel mapping to add a little more at the low rpm range. So far the P2177 code has not come back.

McDonald Mazda replaced my fuel pump and did the ECU reflash on May 22nd. I was having some power loss when the car was at normal temp between 2500-4000RPM (felt like it was bogging down). They ordered the new fuel pump and installed the next day. The tech said the new fuel pump was a higher pressure unit and the old one wasn't flowing fast enough. Part number listed for new pump: L3K9-13-35ZC. If anyone wants I can list the full code lines etc for the replacement let me know. BTW, I didn't get a notice about the fuel pump, just the ECU reflash.

As you all know I've had the same issue. Cobb is back on as of 30mins ago. Gonna watch it. I put stock filter back on for 2 days and CEL went away. Pisses me off.
